The NT is made up of 27 books written by Christians in the first century. The divisions of the NT is as follows

#1 - Gospels
New Testament starts with a block of narratives. The first four gospels deals with the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The first four books are called “Gospels” which means “Good news.”
#2 - Historical Book
The Acts of the Apostle is generally considered as the historical book of the New Testament.
This book mainly deals with the life, ministry and growth of the church.

#3 - Pauline Epistles
The second body of the books of the NT is the Pauline Epistles. Epistles means “Letters”
There are 14 books which were written by Paul, and the authorship of Hebrews was questionable.

The Major Epistles of Paul are
Letter to the Romans

The Prison Epistles of Paul are

The General Epistles are
The third block of the NT is the General Epistles which has seven books in it and they are

Jude
It is called general epistles mainly because it lacks indication of limited address to a single locality.
The Apocalypse of John
Revelation is the second great apocalypse in our Bible, first being the book of Daniel.
Revelation comes from Greek word apocalypse which means “disclosure of something”
The book of Revelation mainly talks about the end times.
