Starlight, sunshine and fireflies
A pedestalled picturesque life
A deer born in a translucent cage
A wanderer mistaken for a sage
Sorry it's not all sunshine and fireflies
It's a perennial combat between darkness and light
A step into the shadows is all it takes
To glimpse the hybrid monster that has your face
There is a darkness within every soul
Which only the Father of lights can help take control
I know it won't be all starlight and sunshine
At least I'll be a firefly glowing in the night
