COURSE DESCRIPTION The goal of Christian preaching is to elicit a reaction from the listeners by the contextual transmission of God's truth. God is a communicator. He has called & commanded his people to share his message in a way that is clear, unique, contextual, and compassionate. As a result, the preacher's character is equally as important as the sermon's content. This module will provide greater emphasis on enhancing the preaching skill of the student. While there are several approaches to preaching, we will primarily focus on EXPOSITORY PREACHING and explore preaching as a culinary art, as developed by the tutor in 3 units. COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. To acquaint the students on basic & foundational principles to preaching 2. To give students the intellectual tools to comprehend & analyze the text| context| audience 3. To instill a strong desire to understand, apply & communicate God's word 4. To help students foster an unquenchable desire for a robust connection with God 5. To deeply instill the idea that a preacher's character & personality are intertwined.
